We will start by heading northwest on the interstate first stopping at the Black Hills National Cemetery with internment of our military personal from the first world war to the present day.
From the Black Hills National Cemetery we will cut cross country on gravel roads and stop at the old cavalry cemetery dating back to the mid 1800. In 1973 this cemetery was designated a national historical site commenorating the American soldiers and their families who died in those bygone days.
Next we will stop at Bear Butte, a monolith sticking up from the planes. We will see if you can tell how it got it's name. Bear Butte is a very sacred place to the Lakota Indian. Before his battles, Chief Crazy Horse spent time here for guidance from the spirits. We will view relics from the past at the vistitor center and may get a chance to see a small heard of buffalo.
